About the Lab

A small London lab, built for depth over breadth.

Northriver Asia Policy Lab (NAPL) — 北河亚洲政策实验室 — is a boutique research and advisory firm based in London, focused on the United States, Japan, Taiwan and China.

NAPL was founded to give European decision-makers a clear, unhurried read on East Asia. We work at boutique scale — three to five resident analysts and a handful of external collaborators — so that every piece of writing that leaves the Lab has been debated around one table.

Our clients are typically small and mid-sized European companies, family offices, investment firms, and a small number of public-sector bodies. Rather than publish widely, we produce a limited series of policy notes, quarterly assessments and bespoke risk memos, complemented by closed-door online briefings for management teams.

We are independent of any government, political party or corporate sponsor. We take no advocacy positions and accept no undisclosed retainers. What we sell is analysis, not access.
